What QikDeal is

QikDeal is a price comparison tool for groceries, electrical and DIY products across the UK and Malta. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.

Accounts and personal data

QikDeal does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use. We do not collect your name, email or payment details.

Search data

To improve the product catalogue and speed up popular searches, QikDeal keeps a short-term, in-memory log of search terms (e.g. which products are searched for most often). This log:

• is not linked to your identity or IP address,
• does not persist — it clears whenever the server restarts,
• is used only to improve search results and pre-load popular products.

Cookies and local storage

QikDeal uses your browser's local storage to remember two things:

• that you've dismissed the cookie notice,
• which market (UK or Malta) you were routed to, for the current browser session.

QikDeal also uses Skimlinks, a third-party affiliate service, which may set its own cookies when you click an outbound retailer link. See "Outbound retailer links" below for details.

Third-party services

QikDeal uses ipapi.co to detect your approximate country from your IP address, so we can show you the right market and currency by default. Your IP address is sent to ipapi.co for this purpose, subject to their own privacy policy. You can always switch markets or currency manually.

Outbound retailer links

Clicking a retailer name takes you to that retailer's own website in a new tab. Once you leave QikDeal, that retailer's privacy policy applies — we have no visibility into what happens on their site.

Some of these links are affiliate links, monetized through Skimlinks. Skimlinks may automatically rewrite an eligible outbound link and use a cookie to track that the click came from QikDeal, so that we earn a commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you. Skimlinks' own privacy policy covers how it handles this data.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever this policy changes, and post material changes here before they take effect.
